Day 1 - Arrive Halifax (2 nights)
Welcome to Halifax. A complimentary transfer is provided to your hotel. Your Tour Director is available after 6 pm to answer questions and welcome you to Halifax.
Day 2 - Halifax sightseeing and at leisure
Today's sightseeing tour includes the Citadel. This afternoon is at leisure. Why not join us for an optional excursion to Peggy’s Cove, one of the most scenic fishing villages in the Maritimes. (Full Breakfast)
Day 3 - Halifax – Sherbrooke Village – Baddeck (2 nights)
This morning we travel north and stop at the Fisherman's Life Museum where we learn about the life of a coastal village family in the early 1900's. Next, we visit Historic Sherbrooke Village a living museum depicting a late 19th century maritime village. Later we cross the Canso Causeway to Cape Breton Island and continue onto Baddeck. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 4 - Cape Breton Highlands National Park and Cabot Trail excursion
First, we visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site with it's fascinating collection commemorating this man's inventive genius. Later today we follow the splendid Cabot Trail, explored by the Englishman John Cabot in the late 15th century. Then we'll drive through Cape Breton Highland National Park, home to deep-walled canyons, sandy beaches, majestic cliffs, and abundant wildlife. We return to Baddeck late in the afternoon. Day 5 - Baddeck – Wood Island Ferry - Charlottetown (2 nights)
Our journey today takes us through Antigonish to the quaint fishing town of Pictou. Here we board the ferry to Prince Edward Island. Once across we travel through the scenic farmlands of the “Potato Capital of Canada” to quaint Charlottetown. (Full Breakfast)
Day 6 - Prince Edward Island sightseeing and at leisure
We begin the morning with a locally guided sightseeing tour of PEI. We drive up to the north shore to see Prince Edward Island National Park. Then enjoy a highlight of this “storybook” island, as we visit the Anne of Green Gables Museum. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 7 - Charlottetown – Shediac Bay-- Moncton
Today we travel across the engineering marvel of Confederation Bridge to New Brunswick, and stop at Shediac Bay where we join a lobstering cruise, complete with a delicious lobster lunch served on board. This afternoon, we visit the Olivier Soapery and learn about the traditional craft of soap-making in the early 19th century. We overnight in Moncton. (Full Breakfast / Lunch)
Day 8 - Moncton – Hopewell Rocks -- Depart Halifax
This morning we travel along the scenic coast of the Bay of Fundy to the Hopewell Rocks, an amazing flowerpot rock formation sulpted by the highest tides in the world. Bid farewell to your Tour Director as you embark on an independent VIA Rail journey back to Halifax, where a complimentary transfer is provided to Halifax International Airport or to the hotel in Halifax for passengers extending their stay.
